Good Lighting
When one particularly frustrated colonist got tired of fixing lamps that shone worse than a torch, he took them apart and discovered the terrifying truth:
— “They… are empty. There’s literally nothing inside. How did they even work?”
The colony engineers decided enough was enough and rebuilt all the lamps from scratch.
Thus, Good Lighting was born.
The mod does not add new items or change the appearance of lamps — it only modifies their behavior.
Take full control over your colony’s visibility by adjusting the radius of standard lamps and Sun Lamps alike. Use the new slider to expand or contract their glow to fit your specific floor plan.
Need a massive sun lamp for a mega-greenhouse? Go for it. Just keep an eye on your batteries—power consumption scales dynamically to match your chosen range.
This mod introduces a manual toggle for every standard lamp in your colony, allowing you to switch between "Normal" and "Sunlight" modes on the fly.
No need to build new objects, just upgrade what you already have. Activating this mode significantly increases energy consumption. You’ll need a stable power grid to keep multiple "mini-suns" glowing.
The “Advanced Lighting” research now affects Sun Lamps, which can significantly change power consumption and colony efficiency (can be optionally enabled in the mod settings).
