Grand Remembrance – AGOT Compatibility Submod

A Game of Thrones submod for Grand Remembrance

This is the AGOT compatibility submod for Grand Remembrance. It adapts the chronicle system to work with the world of A Game of Thrones for CK3, replacing vanilla references with Westeros and Essos equivalents so your obituaries actually make sense in the setting.
If you don’t know what Grand Remembrance does: when your ruler dies, the mod generates a personalized obituary written by someone who actually knew them. The tone shifts depending on whether the chronicler loved them, hated them, or barely cared. This submod makes that work properly with AGOT’s titles, faiths, cultures, and traits.
- Replaces vanilla faith references with AGOT religions (Faith of the Seven, Old Gods, R’hllor, Drowned God, and others)
- Replaces vanilla culture references with AGOT cultures and ethnic groups
- Adapts title and realm terminology to fit the setting (Kingdoms, High Lordships, etc.)
- Adjusts trait references where AGOT uses custom or renamed traits
- Ensures the chronicle text reads naturally in the AGOT world instead of referencing things that don’t exist
- Grand Remembrance (required, this submod does nothing on its own)
- A Game of Thrones for CK3 (required)
This matters. Load them in this order or things won’t work correctly:
- A Game of Thrones (AGOT)
- Grand Remembrance
- Grand Remembrance: AGOT (this mod)
The submod needs to load last so it can override the base mod’s vanilla references with AGOT-specific ones.
This submod is designed to work alongside AGOT and any AGOT submods that don’t heavily alter core faith, culture, or title structures. If you’re running other AGOT submods and run into weird text in your obituaries, let me know and I’ll take a look.
Save compatible. Rulers who died before installing will not have obituaries, but everything going forward works as expected.
AGOT is a massive mod. I’ve covered the major faiths, cultures, and title structures, but there may be edge cases where a specific regional faith or obscure culture produces a generic line instead of something tailored. If you spot something that feels off, drop a comment with the details and I’ll get it sorted.
If you’re running other submods for AGOT that add new faiths, cultures, or other content and you’d like to see them reflected in the chronicles, I’m open to it. Head over to the discussion thread on the base mod and let me know what you think should be covered. No promises on everything, but if the demand is there I’ll look into it.
