Description:

Historical currency names by culture for Crusader Kings III

What this mod does
  • Replaces generic Gold with historical currency names based on a character’s culture.
  • Uses date/era-sensitive rules where a culture’s common term changes over time.
  • Replaces relevant localization strings, not just a single label, so local currencies appear more naturally across the UI.
  • Applies to the gold concept, gold cost strings, character gold tooltips, and culture tooltips.
  • Includes Historical Rigor settings: Flavor, Conservative, or Vanilla Gold.
  • Includes UI Detail settings: Immersive or Minimal.
  • Works fully on its own, with optional native-safe Culture Expanded compatibility support.

Examples
  • English: penny early on, later sterling
  • Greek: nomisma early on, later hyperpyron
  • Castilian / Galician / Asturleonese: dinero early on, later maravedi
  • Portuguese: dinheiro early on, later morabitino
  • Hungarian: denar early on, later florin
  • Dutch: penning early on, later groot
  • Czech: denier early on, later groschen
  • Russian / Ilmenian: grivna early on, later ruble

Design goal
  • Add flavor and historical variety while staying lightweight, readable, and compatibility-friendly.
