Disgrace – City13, Paris
- The map is filled with custom content, therefore it is sadly heavier than the average map
- The map has every content packed, meaning there is no content requirement to play.
- Navigation meshes and AI nodes, alongside the ability for NPC to open doors are both present on the map.
- You will need an external addon to open the Combine’s doors, such as extended properties.
- It is highly recommended to play the map on Chronium 64-bits, as some peoples experienced issues without it !
"Disgrace" is set in a new district of City13, located in the former shell that was Paris. A district where the malnourished and the ills are placed, a slum where most of the anti-citizen and petty criminals live here, trying to survive between the high criminality and mortality rate from the dangers on the surface and underground.
While City13 stands as a loyalist hub and collaboration utopia with the Benefactors, districts like this are the embarrassment of a failed administration, a reminder that not all of humanity stands behind the cruel force of the Combine, and refuse to submit to the deadly alien Empire.
This location is fiercely guarded by a fortress on it’s own, bunkers and aerial synth are used frequently to keep in check the streets, and the civil protection attempt to keep a control on the ground, but this task is easier said than done.
I’m really proud of the creation of this map, after a year of hard labor, I’m really proud to present an official roleplay map set in Paris from scratch by my hands. I do hope to make further maps in the future, such as other cities like London in the UK, or Detroit in the USA, but those projects are for the future.
A fully fledged district set in the oppressive landscape of Paris, with multiples sub-locations on the surface such as a slum, factory, hospital, nexus, multiple apartments, but also it contains multiple "biomes" underground for a more interesting exploration, such as a mineshaft, a quarantine zone, parking lot, and sewers.
Here’s a list of interesting features :
- Portal opening & closing sequences from the Citadel.
- Breakable and repairable windows across the entire map.
- Custom soundscapes.
- AI nodes and navmeshes for the map, alongside NPC are able to open doors.
- Toggleable judgment waiver, with a long cinematic sequence
- Underground train passing from time to time
- Lot of easter eggs and references !
The map has been made with the mindset of a serious half-life 2 roleplay, therefore most of the layout, building placement, and features have been made to accommodate for the best in this gamemode. Therefore, there are chances the map is not set up for other HL2RP frameworks like Impulse.
