Better Army Balancing (1.1.10+)
A simple mod to balance regulars vs levies better.
- Regulars are still good (better)
- Just not so OP that it’s not fun anymore
The latest hotfix is accounted for!
Compatibility
- Compatible with almost everything, but load this mod last (lower in the list).
- This mod does not blanket overwrite whole files.
Details
- Reduced levy_combat_efficiency_modifier.
- Reduced (well increased) LAND_LEVY_COMBAT_IMPACT by the same percentage.
- This narrows down the range of levy combat efficiency by a lot. The modifier is double dipping (it also applies to regulars), so the values have to be small.
- levy_combat_efficiency_modifier is actually better now, since levies are better.
- Including the -10% disc bonus levies have, regulars are around 35% better (depends on the levy_combat_efficiency_modifier).
It would be healthier to reduce the range even more, but I’ll leave it at this for now.
Mercenaries
I tried to make mercenaries more expensive, but it doesn’t really work like that. The maintenance modifier seems to be capped at *1 and the base maintenance cost is the regular unit maintenance.
At least their power is now in line, since they’re regulars.
