Pacific Coast Nations
Now with 81 playble factions spanning from the Bering Strait to Baja California.
The various nations of the pacific coast of north america were among the most advanced technologically in the americas. Dense settlements of 1000’s to 10s of 1000’s of residents dotted the coast and river systems from the California coast to Alaska. Building masterful wooden buildings and boats, working metals including small amount of iron, and building trade networks stretching along the coast; these strong resilient nations resisted colonial efforts well into the 19th century.
Adds 102 pacific coast nations into the game (81 playable and 21 pops based factions), as well as tweaks the resources in the area to make it playable, including: 1 tin to the Haida to allow for proper fleets, 1 Wool in Sto:lo region to represent the amazing salish wool dogs (seriously, look them up), 1 Copper in Squamish, and a smattering of additional stone, fruit, and maize where appropriate to vary the wall of fish and wood (devs seriously stereotyped the region). Starting settlements should provide the resources to get started without too much difficulty for most factions. 3 markets also added to balance regional trade.
Custom maps for all factions and custom diplomatic setups for many nations. Small nations allied with each other or larger nations, Tribal Confederacies (new & still a WIP) , as well as starting vassal & tributary diplomatic setups.
Playble nations included: See image above for all 81- too many to type out here.

Notes on names:
Tlingit – say it like klink-it, or if you want to try the proper sound make the TL combo with the side of your teeth.
Halq̓eméylem – mix of Quwatsen (Cowichan), Musqueam, Sto:lo (said like stall-o) & others.
Wsáneć (said like hussain-itch)
Tsamosa – Tsa means water it’s in *lots* of place names like Tsawwassen & Tsawout… you can’t unsee it now.
Chinook – lower Columbia river nation, trade pidgin language called Chinook… but actual Chinook language is different.
Future goals:
– add custom flags for nations where possible utilizing appropriate iconography.
– add custom descriptions to major factions (Xaayda, Tlingit, Halq̓eméylem, Chinook, Nuuchahnulth, Kwakwak’awak)
– Tweak Haida to be more piratey – they were infamous pirates and slave traders after all (looking into custom advances/ perks).
– Long term: custom building set, clothing, weapons, culture backdrops (started).
Modders: if anyone is familiar with clothing and wants to assist in adding the proper clothes for the region, let me know!
