Description:

"Operation Hastings" was a large-scale joint combat operation conducted by the U.S. Marine Corps and North Vietnamese regular forces in Quảng Trị Province, south of the DMZ, from July to August 1966. The operation was launched in response to intelligence indicating that the North Vietnamese 324th Division was attempting to infiltrate and occupy the area, posing a threat to coastal U.S. bases. Upon detecting enemy movements through aerial reconnaissance, U.S. forces proactively initiated "Operation Hastings" to intercept them.

During the engagement, U.S. forces leveraged overwhelming naval artillery and tactical air support, engaging in intense combat with elite North Vietnamese troops in tropical jungles and mountainous terrain. The operation successfully repelled the North Vietnamese 324th Division, inflicting thousands of casualties and temporarily eliminating the direct threat to northern provinces. "Operation Hastings" is regarded as a classic defensive operation from the early stages of the Vietnam War, yet it also underscored the determination and capability of North Vietnamese forces to challenge the U.S. military in conventional warfare.

This map is primarily inspired by the critical segment of the historical Operation Hastings—the capture of Hill 203. Through seven phases and extensive scripting, we aimed to recreate the authentic experience of the operation. However, due to engine limitations and other factors, some bugs may be present. Despite this, we have dedicated significant effort to this map and hope you enjoy it!
