Dodge Monaco
This is basically a direct port of my 2018 mod, If you used it back then, you know what to expect.
The ultimate 4,500lb slab of American steel. Whether you’re outrunning the law or just trying to find a parking space big enough for a small zip code, the Monaco is the only way to travel.
1974 marked the year Dodge decided that "big" simply wasn’t big enough. This was the debut of the redesigned C-Body, a car so massive it practically had its own gravitational pull. While the rest of the world was starting to panic about fuel prices, Dodge stayed the course with 440 cubic inches of V8 power and a wheelbase that turned every corner into a nautical maneuver.
The A38 Interceptor
The real legend of the 1974 Monaco lies in the A38 Police Package. This wasn’t just a civilian car with a siren bolted on. It was a purpose-built pursuit machine. Dodge equipped these units with heavy duty suspension, massive anti-roll bars, and a "Police Only" cooling system to handle high-speed idling and hard driving.
Under the hood, the A38 package featured the high-output 440 RB V8 engine. Even in the era of early emissions strangulation, this motor provided enough torque to move two tons of steel at a terrifying pace. It was built for durability, featuring reinforced unibody points and oil coolers that allowed it to survive the most punishing shifts on the highway.
Of course, most people recognize this beast as the indestructible star of the silver screen. It earned a reputation for being the car that could jump a bridge, smash through a billboard, and still keep the engine running. It is the quintessential "blues" machine, representing the absolute peak of the full-size American sedan before the era of downsizing took over.
