Description:

While EU5 does way better job at representing Pomerania than previous titles, it still makes a bunch of simple to fix mistakes.

Currently the mod modifies culture groups and languages around the Pomerania. I also thought for a second about merging Kashubian culture into the Hinder Pomeranian one, but it may be interesting to see some sort of a ‘conflict’ between the old Pomeranian culture and the germanization.

As for compatibility: Anything that modifies german or western slavic culture setup files or IO setup files is incompatible and will require a compatch to work with the mod. I sincerly hope Paradox will rework this in the future.

Mod is in 2 language versions: English and Polish,

In the future I may provide further fixes depending whether I (or users) will feel the need. But for now this is just a quick fix that I don’t expect to get great extensions in near future.

Update 1.1:

I added 4 towns to Pomerania. At first I thought that I check for every location if it had city rights by that point, but I quickly realized that nearly every location would need to be a town and that would basically break the flow of the game, so I decided to add semi-strategically placed towns. I also adjusted some pop counts in all Pomeranian towns, mainly adding Markish burghers and clergy.

Update 1.2:

Welp, that town schema was a bit much for those towns. I selected more appropriate one. In the meantime I’m working on making location localization work.

Update 1.3:

I’ve decided to check documentation after all this time to see if the issue was maybe reported by someone and it was! Therefore location localization finally works. (It was file encoding issue if anyone wonders.) This means that the basic work is finally done and I will be moving towards creation of events and similar. I also consider if I should modify settlement positions, tho I do not want to go into graphical stuff at this moment. If anyone has any propositions, I’m looking for feedback.

Update 1.4:

War of the Rugen Succession is officialy here! Right now you can relieve the thrilling conflict over who shall inherit the lands of Rugen. Well, as thrilling as the poor lands of Pomerania can afford, which means a small event chain and a potential war. I’ll be honest, I’m not totally happy with my implementation. Instead of one time payment this should have been a constant tribute with potential war if Wolgast ever stops paying it, but I cannot come up with a good way to implement it. I also wish that I had a better idea how to communicate this event is comming up. And finally: due to how currently EU5 handles existing IOs, this update breaks all compability with any mod that modifies IO setup. But undortunetly it is required for adding a new prince to HRE at game start. I also wish I’d have enough talent to recreate properly the Rugian CoA, but I believe I’ve got close enough with existing assets.

I’ve also decided upon a basic roadmap of what I want to add in the future:
-Minting Rights of Słupsk – a small event granting autonomy to Słupsk.
-A Tale of Three Brothers – a district dissolution event for Wolgast. Hopefully with implementation of custom Union between the resulting dukedoms.
-The Hue of the True Griffin – a new situation in the style of Turkish tribes for primacy amongst Pomeranian duchies. With theocratic path via the Bisphoric Duchy of Cammin planned, tho I’m yet to come up with content for it.
-Between God and King – a new situation for Stettin where the duchy manevours its loyalties between Papacy and Electorate of Brandenburg trying to gain as much independance and security as possible. Still in the process of comming up with interesting events for the scenario.
-Anti-Teutonic Alliance – a Polish-Pomeranian Alliance via marriage in direct opposition to Teutonic Knights. Possibility of union with Poland. I need to play way more Poland before sitting down to this and to come up with some good way of giving other duchies beside Wolgast some participation in the ordeal.
-Rulers of Land, Sea and Air – posibly multiple event chains that result in either gaining seniorship over Kalmar Union or establishing a Pirate Kingdom rulling over the northern seas. Probably the most expansive idea and the least wokred out by me so far. Definitly last in the pipeline.

As always I’m open for any (sane) suggestions. In the meantime I hope to increase the amount of localized locations (tho finding historical or probable names in Pomeranian language will become increasingly hard from now on) as well as adding Połabian language localization for locations if I find any good source on how to create them (I’m pretty sure there isn’t any historical list available other than select few locations).

Update 1.5:

Minor upgrades and fixes.
