Description:

The original Ghouls Backport was pretty much just copy-pasted from Black reliquary.

Balance Changes:

Stats:

Pretty Much all ghouls have received stat changes in order to better match vanilla darkest dungeon, Since Black Reliquary Works with bigger numbers and they were copy-pasted from there, they were way overtunned.

All Ghouls now have an apprentice dungeon level version, Since they don’t show up in apprentice levels dungeons in Black Reliquary and were just copy-pasted from there.

Frantic Actor DOT

Since vanilla DD wasn’t really built around actor DOTs the Frantic status effect just looks out of place and caused display issues with many modded classes, because of these issues and to further help them blend in with the game’s vanilla enemies i’ve decided to remove all aspects of the Frantic Actor DOT from the backport. Pretty much all of the monster’s AIs have been altered to accommodate this change.

Encounters

The Vanilla DD ghoul has been removed from all base game mashes (including the courtyard), some reduntant mashes have been removed (so you wont see anymore mashes with 4 painwears or 2 spellblighters, etc.) and their overall chance of showing up has been reduced, So they should actually feel special now, like in Black reliquary.

Ghoul Giblett and Ghoul Maw

These two ghouls in particular weren’t meant to be different characters, The ghoul giblett was originaly meant to transform in the Ghoul Maw after swallowing a character, However this was cut from BR due to Technical issues. The side effect of making them different characters is their skill list feels way too bare, to fix this issue i gave the Ghoul Maw two extra attacks and the Ghoul Giblett one extra attack. All of them have custom sound effects, visual effects and custom sprites. The Ghoul maw now has a guard skill and a AOE stress skill and the Ghoul Giblett now has a stress skill similar to the painweaver’s ‘baying’

Ghoul Painweaver

To accommodate the backport from BR his prep-round skill ‘weaving wheel’ is now a riposte skill, it also no longer is guaanteed to happen in the first round.

Ghoul Miser

It and the painweaver now deal AOE stress upon running away, so now even if you’re already filthy rich there’s still an incentive to catch them before they run away.

Vanilla DD Ghoul

The Original Ghoul has received a revamp to make him more inline with his new brothers and to make him more intreresting to fight.

Ghoul Mother

Since the Ghoul Plague and Frantic Actor DOT have been removed the Ghoul Mother is now a roaming Boss, she’ll start roaming your estate after you kill the the Necromancer Boss for the first time. She has also received some balance changes… She now only has two turns per round and will run away when reaching round 10 similar to the shrieker fight, so just stalling her out is also an option if you’re not interested in her trinkets and darics.

SIDE NOTE: due to the nature of roaming mods in this game, if you wish to uninstall this mod make sure you’re in a vanilla dungeon and that she’s also not roaming on that dungeon.

Trinket Changes:

Ghoul Mother trophys

Her two trophy trinkets are now dropped by deafeting her Champion level roaming boss encounter.

Ghoul Serum Trinket

Since i decided to remove the Ghoul Plague and Frantic actor DOT the Ghoul Serum Injection Has been Completely Reworked, It’s no longer a CoM trinket and now has a chance to be dropped by all Ghouls (roughly a 4% chance) and is a guaranteed drop from the Ghoul Mother. As for it’s buffs, it is now something similar to a vaccine against the ghouls, giving overall disease resist and stress reduction alongside various resistances and damage reductions against specific skills from all the ghouls.

Bug fixes:

-Fixed some skills not showing up in the enemies skill list
-Fixed Ghoul Mother Trinket raritiy showing up in the bottom of the trinket chest
-Fixed The BR ghoul mother trinket retention quest flavor text showing up in the shrieker’s quest

Localization Changes:

The original Backport had a bunch of Languages in it’s files, unfortunately they weren’t actually translated and were all in english except of course the original backporter’s native language, chinese, how weird.

So i went ahead and added in my own native language, portuguese, asked my friend to do the rest of the chinese localization and if you, the reader, has any interest in translating this mod to your native language… hit me up so i can include you as a contributor.

Place this above the original, like all other patches in the workshop.
