Total War
This mod was created to speed up the wargaming aspect of the game by reducing the time it takes to train armies.
It is a mod for both convenience and gameplay impact.
‘Total War’ refers both to the potential to increase the frequency of combat engagements due to less downtime waiting for troops to be trained, and the similar pacing to recruitment as in games like the Total War series.
I am hopeful this mod will increase AI player survivability especially in the early game by allowing them to recover more quickly from devastating losses and infestation attacks.
This mod will likely increase the prevalence of ‘AI armies’ spawning out of nowhere, as it allows all units to be trained faster; including the players.
This mod does not remove the constraint of unit recruitment cost or upkeep. While you can train troops faster, you still need to have the economy to support recruiting and fielding large armies.
Almost all unit draft costs have been reduced significantly, excluding Tier 5.
Unit draft costs have been standardised across the board.
New costs are based around a city draft target of 100 draft per turn. Note that a city with all base draft upgrades excluding the Smiths’ Guild will generate roughly 75 draft per turn depending on culture (Workshop, Blacksmith, Armory).
Based on the above target, recruitment draft values as follows:
Tier 1: 25 draft – Can recruit 4 units per turn from an upgraded city
Tier 2: 50 draft – Can recruit 2 units per turn from an upgraded city
Tier 3: 100 draft – Can recruit 1 unit per turn from an upgraded city
Tier 4: 200 draft – Can recruit 1 unit every 2 turns from an upgraded city
Tier 5: 400 draft – Can recruit 1 unit every 4 turns from an upgraded city
Low and High recruit cost variations are decreased / increased by 20% respectively, from the base values listed above.
Units that cost mana use the standard draft values.
Units that cost souls use the Low cost draft values.
This is to remain roughly in line with the base game methodology.

This mod is compatible with all base game Languages.
This mod edits multiple ‘Cost Data – Units’ entries in the Tiers_UnitProperties.rpk and will not be compatible with any mods that edit the same data – there are very few mods that touch these entries directly.
Load this after any conflicting mods to overwrite other mod data – it will only impact unit draft costs.
