Revivify – Meadow Support
- CPR – Perform chest compressions in a steady rhythm to breathe life back into your dead pals!
- Proximity – Stand within a configurable distance of your fallen comrades to guide them back to the land of the living!
This mod combines the two other Revivify mods (Revivify by Dual and Revivify Meadow by Daimyo) into a singular mod while making the original CPR-based method compatible with Rain Meadow, and to provide ongoing support from here on while I can.
Daimyo’s Revivify Meadow changed the method of revival from performing CPR on your dead pals to a proximity-based method of just standing near them until they wake up. Personally, I prefer the CPR method of the original, but it couldn’t work with Meadow how it was originally written. So, I fixed it.
I realized that some people would probably prefer the proximity-based revival, and seeing as it hasn’t been updated since it launched, I figured I’d go ahead and add it into this mod as a toggleable option for those who want it since they functionally accomplish the same goal, unify it all under one hood.
While there were some changes that needed to be made in order for it to work with Meadow at all, and some changes had to be made to Diamyo’s proximity version in order to make it more compatible, overall it should be a pretty seamless experience for previous users of either version, and I hope that everyone gets to enjoy it their own way.
- Fully compatible with Rain Meadow (Load order doesn’t matter too much, but I recommend loading it after or above Rain Meadow for the smoothest experience)
- Other players do not need to have the mod installed for you to be revived in Meadow. If using proximity, just ask someone to stand next to you/carry you until you wake up. If using CPR, ask anyone to perform CPR on you, mod not required. They can’t see any indication of it working, but if you’re twitching on your screen when being compressed then it’s working. You are not able to revive online players in Meadow if they do not have the mod installed, no matter how long you stand next to them or how much CPR you do!
- Toggle between Daimyo’s Proximity-based revival method, or Dual’s original CPR-based revival method in the Remix menu. If using CPR, you must receive CPR to be revived. If using proximity you just need someone to stand next to you until you pop back up. If a corpse is using proximity to revive, performing CPR on them will speed up the process!
- Several custom Remix options to make revival easier or harder, change how forgiving dying and being brought back is, etc…
- Lay the corpse fully flat on a solid surface (not halfway in water, on a pole, halfway on a rock, etc…)
- Hold the corpse in your hands – your slug should automatically assume the CPR position if CPR is possible
- Press grab to perform a compression – you can tell how well you are doing by how "hard" the compression is, or how much the corpse moves for that compression
- Time your compressions to maximize the effectiveness (revive faster) – The best timing I’ve found is to perform your next compression after you’ve fully finished the last one.
- If you get out of rhythm, just stop for a second and try again!
- Revive Speed: How fast you want to be revived. Higher is faster.
- Deaths Until Exhaustion: Dying is an ordeal, and so is being brought back. This sets how many deaths until you’re revived "exhausted" – functionally it’s the same as being malnourished/starved, you’ll wear out faster/easier, spaz out, drop items, etc…
- Deaths Until Slugpup Comatose: How many deaths until Slugpups are still considered alive but comatose – functionally asleep, needing to be carried to shelter in order to survive.
- Deaths Until Revival Isn’t Possible: How many deaths until a body cannot be revived anymore. Setting to 3 means on the 3rd death, they cannot be revived anymore.
- Time Until Bodies Expire: How many minutes until a corpse is no longer able to be brought back from the dead, in minutes.
- Revive Using Proximity: If enabled, someone must stand next to you for you to revive. If disabled, someone must perform CPR on you.
- Allow Corpse Piggyback: In Singleplayer/Jolly Co-op only, allows you to put scug corpses onto your back
- Revive Distance: How close someone needs to be in order for your character to start reviving – lower requires them to be closer to you in order for you to start reviving when using Proximity. Default distance is about arm’s/spear’s reach
- In my testing, load order doesn’t really matter, however the reviving experience seemed slightly smoother when loading it after or above Rain Meadow
- Since Meadow doesn’t normally support corpse piggybacking, the corpse piggybacking option only applies in Singleplayer/Jolly Co-op
- Method to revive and speed to Revive in Meadow is controlled by the player that needs revived, not the reviver. If the corpse player has proximity revive enabled, then they’ll revive by just standing next to them, even if you have proximity revive disabled
- The visual effect for being exhausted (becoming pale, similar to starving/malnourished) doesn’t seem to be synced by Meadow, so other players cannot see your new, pale self
I’m aware that this mod could be used to cheat in public Meadow story or arena lobbies, and I highly encourage you to add the mod to your BannedMods or HighImpactMods list, accessible from the Rain Meadow Remix Menu, if you’re planning on hosting open servers. Either way, I hope you enjoy the work that’s gone into it!
I’ve not worked on this in awhile and have been on hiatus from RW, but if something comes up I’ll try to fix it in a timely manner.
Apart from the listed changes, the majority of the code is from the original Revivify mod by Dual, found on Github[github.com]. Any code from Daimyo’s version of the mod came from decompiling the version found on the Steam Workshop. I added the Meadow support for Dual’s CPR method and reorganized/optimized the two methods to work well with each other, but my contributions are minimal at best, and the majority of the credit should go towards Dual and Daimyo for both versions of the original mods. If you like this mod, go like theirs, share the love and all that.I’m not asking for any recognition or credit for the mod despite the work put in, I just wanted the original Revivify mod to be compatible with Rain Meadow. I intend to keep the mod updated with game versions and maybe implement highly requested features as options, we’ll see.Source code available on Github[github.com], thumbnail art by me
