As the United States closed in on the Japanese mainland, Japan needed a way to arm it’s entire civilian population as quickly as possible as it’s weapons manufacturing industry had been crippled by the US’s strategic bombing campaigns. A solution to this was to provide civilian workshops all across the country with simple rifle making kits to create the hundreds of rifles that the factories couldn’t produce in time. The quality of these rifles would depend the workshop that made them but most of these would of course be crude when compared to your standard bolt action rifle with some being of matchlock designs. None would ever see service and the only surviving examples of these rifles have only been seen in various images taken only existing as a prototype.

- It’s a 2 x 4 and a steel pipe that shoots a single bullet. There literally is nothing special about it.
