Description:

A mod for Farthest Frontier that rebalances various aspects of farming and deepens the composting mechanic.

Changes:

  • Crop field window displays its size and field number (for cross-referencing with field summary window).
  • Crop field summary window shows the fertility of every field.
  • Animals eat substantially more fodder.
  • Amount of sand / clay needed to change soil mixture increased, and now scales with field size.
  • All but one farmer per field are automatically released from their jobs at the end of the farming season (temporarily becoming laborers), and reassigned as farmers at the start of spring (requires "Auto-Refill Professions" on the population menu to be disabled).
  • Lowered the fertility penalty of growing green vegetables slightly.
  • Reduced the yield of peas and beans; increased the yield of carrots.

Works with vanilla save files (and vice-versa), but this mod directly writes to save files so it is recommended to make a backup. To fully feel the effect of the changes, it’s also best to start a fresh settlement. Installation instructions.
