Imperial Elective
Imperial Elective
What this does:
– Adds a new decision: Establish Imperial Elective
– Applies a custom imperial elective system alongside dynastic kingdom protection
Summary:
Imperial Elective Succession:
– Decision: "Establish Imperial Elective"
– Available to independent feudal emperors, not at war
– Costs 1000 prestige
Applies three things simultaneously:
– Imperial Elective succession law on your empire title
– Royal Dynastic Succession law on every kingdom title you personally hold
– Fires a flavor event with three reward options
Imperial Elective (empire title):
– Succession decided by election, not inheritance
– Electors: the emperor + all direct king vassals (vote strength: emperor=4, kings=3)
– Candidates: the king vassals + the emperor’s primary heir + any landed primary heir of a king vassal who shares that king’s dynasty
– AI votes using vanilla feudal elective scoring behavior
Royal Dynastic Succession (kingdom titles):
– Each personally held kingdom passes to the eldest male of the ruling dynasty
– Falls back to eldest female if no males exist (male preference, not male only)
– Prevents the kingdoms from leaving the dynasty regardless of who wins the empire election
Flavor Event: "The Imperial Compact":
– Glory — +200 prestige + decaying opinion boost from all king vassals
– Sacred Oath — +250 piety + stress relief
– Authority — 10-year character modifier (+10 vassal opinion, +2 diplomacy, +1 monthly prestige)
AI:
– Player-only decision (AI will not take it)
Notes:
– This is not a finished product, there could and probably should be bugs
– Balance and behavior may change
– Feedback will be taken into consideration
Known Bugs:
– Taking this law whilst being on confederate still breaks the empire on succession
