Shelby Daytona Coupe
Shelby Daytona Coupe
The Shelby Daytona Coupe is a race car based on the Cobra manufactured by AC and Shelby, specifically developed to compete against Ferrari’s own 250 GTO in the GT class in 1964 and 1965. Although having the same 4.7 liter V8 by Ford from the Cobra, the Daytona was developed in response to the Cobra’s struggles in the Mulsanne straight, with Pete Brock responsible in designing the eventual car’s bodywork and Bob Negstad in suspension. The result is a car capable of reaching over 310 km/h, a total improvement from Cobra’s top speed.
Although the car’s colors are mostly based on real liveries ran during its racing years, they are unnamed and have no specific numbers for the sake of simplicity. Additionally, players have freedom to play with the color combinations using the available paint parts, with 9 parts available.
