Pen Audit

Pen Audit is a quality-of-life mod for diagnosing animal pens quickly and clearly.

Vanilla will tell you when a pen is invalid, but it does not do much to show why. This mod adds a simple audit tool directly to the pen marker so you can check the enclosure, spot leaks, confirm outside access, and get a quick read on shelter and visible feed conditions.

The goal is not to replace vanilla pen mechanics or automate the whole system. It is meant to be a practical troubleshooting tool that is easy to use, easy to understand, and safe to add to an ongoing save.

If people want more checks, better reporting, or additional safe auto-fix options, I will keep expanding it based on requests.

• Adds an Audit pen button to pen markers
• Checks whether the pen is properly enclosed
• Detects leak paths and shows where the enclosure is failing
• Checks for an outside-connected gate or door
• Reports roofed shelter coverage inside the pen
• Shows rough visible forage and stored feed inside the pen
• Draws a simple overlay while the marker stays selected
• Optional Fix issue button for safe one-tile breach blueprint placement
• Works mid-save
• Built to stay simple, practical, and stable

• Red = leak route from the pen to the outside
• Yellow = nearby cells worth checking around the breach
• Green = gates or doors that connect the pen to the outside

1. Build a pen marker as usual
2. Select the pen marker
3. Click Audit pen
4. Read the report and follow the overlay if a leak is found
5. If your version includes it, use Fix issue to place a matching blueprint for a simple one-tile breach

• Pens that look closed but are still invalid
• Missing or misplaced fence segments
• No usable outside gate or door for roping animals in
• Pens with little shelter
• Pens with poor visible grazing or no stored feed inside

• This is a diagnostic tool, not a pen overhaul
• It only runs once you press the audit button, this mod does not impact performance.
• The feed and forage readout is meant as a practical estimate, not a full nutrition simulation
• The auto-fix feature only attempts safe, limited fixes and will refuse messy cases instead of guessing
