Description:
Small update, please read change note on the right
_____

Please keep in mind: in future expansion, where I’m planning to add destination billboards and more, I will likely have to make changes to city limit and highway signs. In that case, those signs may be automatically deleted after an update and will need to be placed manually again. I can’t fully predict these changes in advance, cause I’m doing it while testing everything in my republic, but it will probably be necessary.

_____
Other than that, future updates should not affect existing signs in your republics

Road Signs Mega pack

(includes all vanilla signs for manual placement + the ability to make vanilla signs invisible)

This pack came out of my experiments with the game files after installing an excellent railway catenary mod.
BTW, check it out: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3541810268

I decided to try making the vanilla signs invisible in a similar way – and it worked. At first, I made vanilla sign props for myself for manual placement, but I couldn’t stop there. And now I’m sharing a large pack of road signs made in styles from the late USSR and CIS countries.

I highly recommend disabling vanilla signs visability – roads look much better with manual placement.

My goal is to decorate my republic to make it look more realistic, so I created a kind of system that allows adding additional signs to the main one or placing a second sign on top, combining them in many ways by "coloring" so they truly fit the road conditions. These signs come as separate monuments and require careful placement to look like a single piece in the end.

Placement tip

Before uploading the mod, I used it for several days to find a way to organize the signs into categories for easier placement. Besides categories, if you’re planning to use this mod heavily (like I do), I have a tip for you: for easy placement of perfectly aligned additional signs, I highly recommend this method – you need to assign the signs to hotkeys. (See the screenshot.) Then you’ll be able to place all necessary signs by selecting them with hotkeys and cycling with the Q and E buttons without moving the mouse. They will align properly and look perfect without any texture overlap. You can also use the in-game clone tool – it works well for copying an existing set of signs, but unfortunately it does not save their current skin. I wish the devs would add that feature to this tool.

How to make vanilla signs invisible

In the mod folder steamappsworkshopcontent7841503704061852 you’ll find a separate folder with replacement files (it also contains some adjusted textures of vanilla signs), backup files to revert everything back to stock, and a README file with instructions. If you have any trouble with installation – ChatGPT can help you out 😉

____________________________

I really want to have everything needed to decorate roads in one place, so I’m planning to expand this mod further – updates are possible in the future. Not sure when though, as I want to prepare all necessary models myself and still need to learn how to do it.

The signs do not affect traffic in any way and are purely decorative. Use the standard in-game tools to manage traffic – they will continue to work with invisible signs.

For vanilla signs, this mod uses textures from the game files. The model is based on the vanilla one with slight adjustments. All credits for that go to 3Division.
All additional signs are also based on the vanilla model and textures, using the same color palette, so all signs share a consistent style and size.

Special thanks to:

@frantic_monkey – the creator of the catenary mod, for the sign removal files and for inspiring me to explore this approach 🙂 https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198060372573/myworkshopfiles/?appid=784150

@Oleg Monolit – for answering my newbie questions about modding in this game 😉 https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198409492280/myworkshopfiles/?appid=784150

P.S.

I made this pack primarily for myself and my own build, so if something feels inconvenient or not perfectly organized – sorry about that, you can’t please everyone.
