Civ4 Wonders for Civ5

Hello, Civilization fans! This is Modern Side Park.
Today, October 25th, 2025, marks exactly 20 years since Sid Meier’s Civilization IV was released in North America.
I believe this is a meaningful day for many players who love the Civilization series.
(After all, without Civilization IV, there might not have been Civilization V or VI as we know them today!)
To celebrate this day in my own small way, I created this mod.
By installing this mod, you can add several wonders that appeared in Civilization IV: The Apostolic Palace, Red Cross, Scotland Yard, Hollywood, Rock And Roll.
– The Apostolic Palace: The city where this Wonder is built gains +4 Faith, and 2 Missionaries appear near the city. The city’s religious spread rate is doubled, and a Monastery is constructed in the city that built this Wonder. Can only be built in a Holy City.
– Red Cross: Building a Wonder in this city increases Food by 8 and increases the Great Scientist points required by 3. Units produced in this city start with the Medic promotion.
– Scotland Yard: Spy infiltration is reduced by 20%, and the city’s defense is increased by 15. Units produced in this city gain the ‘Entrenchment’ promotion. A Police Station is automatically built in the city where this Wonder is constructed.
– Hollywood: The city where this Wonder is built produces +50% Culture. The amount of Great Person Points required to spawn a Great Artist increases by 2. Provides 5 copies of the Luxury Resource Hit Movies.
– Rock And Roll: Culture output in this city is increased by 50%, and Culture is increased by 5. The Great Person points required for a Great Musician to appear are increased by 3. A Great Musician appears near the city with this Wonder, and Culture from Great Musicians is increased by 1. Provides 5 copies of the luxury resource Hit Singles.
To be honest, I was quite nervous about releasing this mod. Most of the ideas, effects, and descriptions are directly based on Civilization IV, so I worry that there might be bugs or balance issues within Civilization V’s mechanics. I’m also not very familiar with LUA scripting, so some effects may not have been implemented perfectly.
(However, thanks to a kind user’s advice regarding happiness from luxury resources, I was able to adjust the AI’s trade preferences to address that issue. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank them once again.)
I’m aware that many talented modders have already created wonderful versions of Hollywood, and I’ve even tried some of those mods myself. However, this mod was not made to compare with or replace any of those works, but rather out of a desire to faithfully recreate the wonder from Civilization IV in Civilization V.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my deep respect and gratitude to all the creators of the existing mods.
Although this mod may have many shortcomings, I hope it brings back fond memories for those who once enjoyed Civilization IV. I’m truly grateful for all the warm comments and encouragement you’ve given to me, even though I’m still a modest and learning modder.
