AMTD-02 [Kestrel-B] Laser Targeting Pod
The Aircraft-Mounted Target Designator(AMTD)-02 "Kestrel-B" is a 45kg camera and laser pod that can be mounted onto an aircraft, and used to obtain the coordinates of a position by simply aligning the camera reticle with the target, verifying that the [Within Range] indicator is lit and pressing the [DESIGNATE] button.
Unlike the Kestrel-A, the expanded Kestrel-B is fitted with a coordinate memory module for designating a target at the press of a button instead of having to keep the reticle on the target at all times, massively improving performance when mounted on moving aircraft.
HOW TO USE THE KESTREL-B:
The Kestrel-B outputs the location it is currently pointing at through the bright red(longitude), blue(latitude), and green(altitude)
The designated location is outputted through the desaturated red, blue and green, and on Team radio channels 0, 1 and 2
HOW TO OPERATE THE KESTREL-B:
Press 1 to activate the camera and use the arrow keys to slew the reticle over the target. Verify that the indicator on the right side of your view is lit, and press SPACE to designate a target. You may hold SPACE for as long as you wish to continuously update the designated target location.
