Koyokku Tactical Overhaul

Koyokku Tactical Overhaul is a complete rework of the vanilla experience, designed to enhance the tactical depth of combat while preserving the core identity of the game. It introduces multiple improvements to create a more realistic and immersive battlefield without fundamentally altering gameplay.

New Movement System

The movement system has been fully redesigned. Soldiers now move more realistically and react more to terrain conditions.

• Standard running replaced with a fast tactical walk
• Double-click triggers a sprint for repositioning, retreats, or emergencies
• Stamina is now a critical resource that depletes quickly and requires recovery

Vehicles are also affected:

• Poor terrain can severely slow down vehicles (swamps, forests, snow)
• Off-road movement is riskier and must be planned

Logistics is no longer optional. Trucks and transports finally have a purpose. Expect longer battles, more complex maneuvers, and catastrophic mistakes.

Reworked Vegetation Physics

Vegetation has been redesigned as physical cover.

• Bushes and trees now conceal units effectively
• Projectiles pass through bushes foliage
• New visual effects when vegetation is hit or destroyed

Building Debris System

Destruction now creates meaningful battlefield changes.

• Destroyed buildings generate usable debris cover
• Flattening cities may benefit the enemy defensively

AI Improvements

AI behavior has been refined for more tactical engagements.

• Units move more cautiously under fire
• Higher chance to retreat under pressure
• Improved use of cover

Increased Weapon Range

Weapon ranges have been increased to approximately 2.5× their original values, making them more realistic while remaining adapted to the scale of the maps.

• More realistic engagement distances
• Artillery has long range but extremely poor accuracy over distance

New Low Fixed CP Modes

New battlezones/domination mode with fixed Command Points:

• 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 CP presets
• Equal starting CP for all players
• Slow CP increase over time

Designed for smaller, more tactical battles with better unit control.

Smaller scale frontlines mode for more slow and tactical advance.

HMG & Mortar Carrying

Heavy weapons can now be transported over long distances using unit inventory.

• HMGs, mortars and ammo crates can be picked up and stored in inventory
• Allows relocation of heavy weapons and ammo crates without vehicles
• Enables flexible deployment and repositioning across the battlefield
• Ideal for setting up support positions in hard-to-reach areas

Tactical Doctrine AI for conquest

Conquest AI has been completely redesigned around dynamic battlefield doctrines. Bots no longer spawn units randomly or attack in predictable waves: each AI commander now follows a unique operational doctrine that defines army composition, aggression, attack direction, and battlefield behavior.

• 9 unique combat doctrines with distinct tactical personalities
• Dynamic offensive phases: recon, breakthrough, spearhead, consolidation, flanking, and pincer attacks
• Adaptive force composition based on doctrine-specific unit ratios
• Intelligent reactions to battlefield losses and shifting frontlines
• Dynamic attack axis selection across left, center, and right sectors
• Specialized squad roles for assault, flanking, and defensive actions
• Hard limits and soft balancing prevent unrealistic unit spam

Battles now evolve through coordinated tactical pushes, regrouping phases, counterattacks, and shifting battlefield pressure. Every match feels less scripted, more reactive, and significantly closer to fighting a real battlefield commander.

Gameplay Tips

• Units prefer optimal long-distance paths (often roads)
• Avoid generic orders unless intentional
• Plan movements carefully and advance in phases

Gameplay Note

Best experienced with smaller, well-managed squads supported by a limited number of vehicles. Large armies reduce control and tactical depth.

Compatibility

Compatible with mods that do NOT modify:

• Weapon ranges
• Movement systems or animations
• Vegetation
• Buildings and destruction

Load Order (Important)

• Enable all other mods first
• Load Koyokku Tactical Overhaul last

This ensures correct overriding of conflicting changes.

Modding Support

Built with modularity in mind. Other modders can easily integrate its systems into their own projects.

Download the Lite version of this mod: Koyokku Tactical Overhaul – Lite. It includes all the features of the base version while keeping the vanilla weapon range. Do not enable both at the same time.
