## How to Use

1. Launch AFNM.
2. Open Settings → Mods.
3. Select "Character Stats Editor".
4. Click the panel button to show or hide the editor.
5. Change stats and combat buff requests.
6. Click **Apply Changes** to commit updates to your character.

## Safety & Compatibility

– **Save-compatible**: Changes are applied through the official ModAPI. If the mod is disabled or removed, the buffs to combat stats are temporarily lost, but the savefile can still be loaded successfully.
If the mod is then loaded again, the buffs will be applied again too, automatically.
– **Real-time**: Stats are updated without restarting the game.
– **Balance warning**: Editing stats can significantly alter game difficulty.
– **Back up saves** if you want to preserve an unmodified state.

## Specific Notes
– The Protection combat stat can only be inspected during combat. It’s shown both on the stats of the player and when it’s applied against incoming damage in the combat log.
It caps at 90%, it’s updated seemingly in percentages and it grows with diminishing returns. The values entered through the editor for this stat are the growth values, not the percentage itself.
The resulting Protection percentage is only shown on the combat window.
The easiest way to understand how it works is to test updating this value and then see how it is reflected on the actual Protection percentage by entering into a fight with one of the puppets in the Training Ground.
