Republic of Pinot
The Republic of Pinot is a custom/new nation mod. It was made over the course of about two weeks mainly for fun, but I plan to keep working on it even after release. You might need some DLCs for this mod, but I don’t know which ones… sorry 😛
WHAT THIS MOD INCLUDES:
-One (1) reasonably powerful new nation to mess around with
-A unique mission tree
-Two new Tier 1 government reforms
-A custom culture in the Byzantine group
-Loosely organized history for Pinot
WHAT I KNOW COULD BE BETTER:
-Currently, the "Generality" estate is simply a reskin of Nobles. This is because modding estates is both very difficult and time consuming, and there is very little useful documentation regarding it. I’m not happy about having the Generality be a reskin of the Nobles estate, but until I can do something about it, this is the compromise we’re stuck wtih.
-This mod may not be entirely compatible with other new nation mods.
-The custom nation interface may be wonky if you’re using a mod that adds new governments or government reforms
WHAT WILL BE IMPROVED IN THE COMING WEEKS:
-I will expand the mission tree
-I will add unique events for the nation
-The "Generality" estate will be added and replace the Nobility (This one might take the longest due to lack of good documentation and zero tutorials online. If you want to help out, contact me on Steam.)
-More robust dynamic naming for the Franco-Greek culture
-I will add a custom start screen for your Pinot campaign!
This mod was made with very little modding experience, so I am aware it isn’t anywhere near perfect. If you have any suggestions for new content or want to help me out, let me know!
HISTORY LESSON:
in the late 14th century, a group of Burgundian/French merchants, army officials and bureaucrats were arrested for plotting against the government and exiled to Cyprus. There, they were imprisoned for several years before, in 1386, they organized a rebellion against the local government while still imprisoned. Led by Dimos Theodoros, they overthrew the Cypriot government and installed a military dictatorship in its place. In the coming years, they carved out a spot in the eastern Mediterranean, conquering Syria, the Holy Land, and a part of southeast Anatolia. In 1444, you play as a Pinot being choked out between two military powerhouses: the Mamluks and the Ottomans. To your east, the sultanate Aq Qoyunlu and the beylik of Dulkadir are constantly carrying out raids on your frontier cities, and your nation is recovering from a costly and ultimately unsuccessful war against the Mamluks. However, you have the resources to not only secure your spot in the grand scheme of things but also make the nation of Pinot much more feared and respected than you start with.
