Description:

A redo/addition to the Northern Coast zone, featuring new locations & lore. I’ve always enjoyed this region (neighbors aren’t ideal, but tell me a location where they are) but felt it was always quite lack luster in vanilla and no mod has ever quite "scratched the itch" of what II’ve felt it could be. So, after alot of time and effort, I am proud to release my first mod that adds more to this region.

It might be small compared to others, but I didn’t want to overload it to much. It is also completely vanilla friendly and touches the minimum amount of base game locations I felt I could, so it should pair well with most mods.

So, what all does it do?

—————
(New Locations)
Adds a new city known as Sellsword, with some of its own vanilla NPC’s and lore tied to it. Adds 2 new ruins and reworks 1 old one, the ravaged village & farm ruins hosting outposts for mercenaries, while Rampart has some decent loot and a cannibal hunter outpost. There are also world state changes tied to the town and outposts, one if Lord Pheonix & Valtena are dead, the other if a character within Sellsword dies (I think it might be obvious who, so that’s the only hint I’ll give).

What’s there to do in Sellsword?

Mercenary Hires!

If you ever wanted to hire a small army of mercs, but couldn’t find anymore than a squad or 2, Sellsword has you covered with 8 squads alone you can pick up, so long as you can pay.

Real Estate!

There’s a single shack you can purchase here. At nearly 20,000 cats, no amenities, and in a neighborhood that will literally eat you, it’s quite reasonable and affordable compared to what’s on most present day real estate markets.

Work for the mercenary guild?!

…well ok, no not really (please don’t be too disappointed, I tried hard to make a system to do that but it didn’t work out. Maybe in a future mod I’m thinking up.)

Trade, Shopping, and Drinking!

With 3 bars, 1 general shop, 1 robotics shop, and a weapon & armor smith, the city has everything a wandering blade could ask for.

(Mercenary Guild Additions)
I’m a fan of mercenary guilds & groups in video games and thought this location would be great to flesh the guild in game out some more. This mod basically makes them the most dominant faction in the region, but isn’t meant to turn them into a major faction. It also gives some fan made lore to the faction, but I’ll leave that for you to discover on your own.

Where can I find this lore for them and other locations?

Its scattered throughout the new locations in the form of books, notes, and NPC’s, but a major source for it will be a character named Motormouth in the bars of Sellsword. Just look for a black duster and you found them.

(Vanilla & mod friendly)
There is a lot of talent in this workshop who have added a ton of great content to this great game, so I put serious effort into adding something I felt fit into the lore and could work with as many mods as possible. This mod does not touch any of the base game factions, so it should be compatible with anything that reworks the mercenary guild, while the locations in the screenshot map above are the ones added or changed.

This mod is not compatible with anything that edits: Northern Coast fishing village & ghost village, okran’s valley farm ruins, and assume unless tested yourself anything that adds locations to this region.

I hope that this will be the first of more mods as I prepare to work on another project and that it is an enjoyable experience.

(If you want a teaser of my next city mod, there is a lore friendly note in the zone doing such. Hint: Go to where it all fell, at least from what you’ve heard, then search very thoroughly, for some old nomadic words

This will probably be the only version of this mod I upload, but that could change if there are any serious problems or I get any ideas to improve it.

Like I said, this is my first mod and I appreciate any constructive criticism, so feel free to tell me what you think
