Air Density
This mod affects the physics of:
– Aerodynamic blocks (props, wings, etc)
– Flying spirals
– Balloons (and the new Hot Air Balloon)
– Vacuums
– Flamethrowers
with altitude.
It uses a decaying exponential function to calculate air pressure, mimicking real life.
It also adds a light system to flamethrowers.
Dependencies
– Object Explorer – since this mod doesn’t have its own UI, this is the only way to actually use it. See images.
– Instrumentality – this mod has an air gauge and altimeter which integrate with this mod.
Preset Modes
‘Disabled’ – vanilla behaviour, default
‘Normal’ – see images; 100% at 0m, 10% at 2000m
‘Low’ – 100% at -500m, 10% at 1500m (half of normal)
‘None’ – 100% and 10% at some insanely low value (i.e. nothing)
These altitudes can also be set manually without presets.
They’re also not capped – you can set the sea level altitude above 0 and you will get higher density air.
