Situation Update:
While the sinking of the Soviet ‘Zapad’ task force was a major victory, it forced Moscow to play its final card in the Caribbean. Cuba has officially entered the conflict, acting as a distracting ‘second front’ for the United States. Reports confirm that Cuban MiG-17s and Osa-class missile boats are actively hunting merchant vessels, threatening to halt the flow of fuel and supplies to the European theater.
Your Orders:
Admiral, you are to lead a coordinated two-pronged assault on Havana. The ‘Hornet’s Nest’ must be broken, and it must be done quickly.
Task Group Homeland (USS Nimitz): Striking from the East-Southeast, your air wing must achieve air superiority over the island and neutralize the military infrastructure at Havana International Airport.
Task Group Big Stick (USS Iowa): Approaching from the North, the ‘Big Stick’ will provide heavy fire support and draw out the Cuban coastal defense fleet.
Intelligence Report:
Aerial Threat: Expect heavy resistance from MiG-21 and MiG-23 squadrons. Watch for low-level ‘Banzai’ runs aimed directly at the Nimitz.
Naval Threat: Multiple ‘Osa’ missile boat wolfpacks are lurking in coastal coves.
Subsurface: Three ‘Foxtrot’ class submarines are confirmed to be on station. Find them before they find our tankers.
Victory Conditions:
Destroy the airfield hangars, the central ammo depot, and the submarine threat. Once the ‘Nest’ is neutralized, withdraw all units to friendly ports for replenishment. The road to Europe must be paved in steel.
