Description:

Congratulations! You’ve discovered that the North Atlantic has ice in it. Who knew?

Turns out when you sail your submarine into freezing northern waters, you might encounter these pesky frozen obstacles called "icebergs." Revolutionary concept, right? The game apparently forgot to include them, so here we are.

The further north you go, the more of these inconvenient chunks of ice you’ll find blocking your path. Winter? They’re everywhere. Summer? They politely retreat north where they belong. It’s almost like they follow actual seasonal patterns and ocean current patterns. Near North America (Labrador Current), they can reach as far south as 45°N during peak season – just like the one that said hello to Titanic. But as you sail east toward Europe, the Gulf Stream keeps them away, with icebergs only appearing north of 55°N.

Each encounter spawns multiple icebergs at various sizes – because one massive navigation hazard just wasn’t enough. They’ll appear ahead of you at detection range, giving you just enough warning to panic appropriately.

Customization: All settings can be tweaked via the datasheet at General/Settings/Ice, including latitude limits, spawn probabilities, and encounter distances.

For captains who thought the North Atlantic wasn’t dangerous enough already.
