Boshin Darker Colours
A maximally lazy recolour that I made for myself to save my eyes from bleeding, since the neon colours of the factions are CA’s trademark.
I didn’t come up with anything better than simply darkening the primary colours of all major clans by a few tones and performed a swap of colours for some clans. Also got rid of the acidic yellow colours that were shoved into literally every faction.
Tried not to deviate from vanilla logic to avoid dissonance with flags and pre-defined LOD colours.
List of changes (first colour – primary, second – tertiary):
Aizu – black and white.
Choshu – black and yellow.
Tosa – white, red and black.
Nagaoka – dark green and dark red.
Sendai – blue and white.
Saga – rusty red and dark gray.
Obama – dark brown and dark gray.
Tsu – dark gray and purple.
All minor clans have also been tweaked.
Why exactly these colours?
For example, I initially wanted to make Tosa just black, but I didn’t want to spawn too many dark factions, and one historical painting helped in the decision to give them a white tunic with black trousers. It depicted a red bear with such colours, but he was alone and most likely it was an officer, but I think there’s nothing wrong with giving the whole faction such colours.
I gave Tsu dark gray, because it’s the most terrible faction in terms of colour, which in all fairness should simply be removed from the game. No matter what colours you twist for it, it turns out like sh?t. Through a ton of tests, I found a decent combination of dark gray with their piggy colour. And it’s obvious the developer had schizophrenia when he thought it was a good idea to give a white and piggy colour to a faction that specializes in ninjas. It’s so inconspicuous, right?
Well, as for the rest of the factions, I think everything is clear anyway. Obama’s brown and yellow – the colour of sh?t and piss. Sendai’s blue and yellow – the colour of toilet water and piss. Accordingly, I had to give them black and white as a tertiary. Only red can suit green Nagaoka. That’s how it is.
