Description:

Simple mod that adds the ability to produce neutroamine at a drug lab, this version doesn’t require chemfuel.

Neutroamine Synthesis – Lite

– This was the original mod release, and I don’t want to remove it for the users that already downloaded it. So it now exists as an alternate version that removes the need for chemfuel from the recipe. I would recommend the main version as I believe it is more realistic and slightly more fairly balanced.
– Adds a research project for the synthesis of neutroamine at a drug lab. Prerequisites are psychite refining and medicine production.
– Requires 20 psychoid leaves and 2 cloth. Minimum medical skill of 10.
– A bulk recipe that produces 5 neutroamine. Costs 5x as much resources, but only takes 4x as long to produce for a small efficiency bonus.
– Based on a (probably completely wrong) idea that the psychoid leaves are soaked in chemfuel. They are then heated which triggers a reductive reaction that results in neutroamine. Which is then strained through cloth to remove plant matter. This is a very rough interpretation of how amines would be synthesised in reality, I’m not a professional chemist although I think utilising existing items in Rimworld this provides a fairly lore friendly way to produce neutroamine.
-It doesn’t aim to be 100% realistic. This is Rimworld after all; you milk chemfuel from creatures. Additionally, the other drugs in the game would require additional chemicals to produce – which the game lacks (for simplicities sake). Therefore I think this interpretation is fair.
– This version excludes the chemfuel from the cost.

13-9-2019 – Update 2 – Changed the name to ‘Neutroamine Synthesis – Lite’ to differ it from the new version of the mod which aims to be more realistic by adding chemfuel to the recipe. Also changes my personal lore interpretation and a couple of in game prompts.
