人类经历了与魏玛战斗后，魏玛星球被人类占领，从此魏玛阵亡。
后来人类吸收魏玛科技，成功的让自己科技水平达到了3.5级。
可这时，达到3级文明的三体人突然对地球发起进攻，人类防守薄弱，好在人类科技水平高于三体人。
经历一波防守之后，三体人死不甘心，并瞄准了人类的重要城镇——希望之都，人类也开始在那里负责防守。
