Description:

From PNF-404, Smoky Progg of the Pikmin series makes its way to Aether! The wretched beast causes any who cross its path to succumb to its deadly Gloom!

Special Properties

Gloom: A trail of smoke called Gloom follows Progg wherever it goes, and can be laid on stage remotely through FSPECIAL, USPECIAL, or DSTRONG. Any opponents within Gloom will take gradual damage. If they are damaged by any attack while at or above 200% while standing inside of Gloom, they will be instantly KO’d!

Scream: NSPECIAL, FSTRONG, and DAIR all have Progg scream. Screaming near Gloom will cause it become Panic Gloom temporarily, with a new effect showing the improved form. This causes Gloom to deal an increased damage rate, increase its range, reset the lifetime timer on Gloom placed on stage, and lowers the instant KO percentage to 150%! Use this to deal damage quickly, or catch your opponents off guard by KOing them faster than they might expect!

Pearl: Whenever Smoky Progg is KO’d, it drops a pearl. An opponent who hits this pearl will restore 50%. Progg is unable to interact with this pearl in any way, so do your best to prevent your enemies from grabbing it!

Egg: When respawning, a new Progg will hatch from an egg that slowly drops from the top of the screen. By performing any input, you can attempt to break from the egg faster. If you hit an opponent with DSPECIAL, an egg will be spawned on stage, allowing you to get back into the fight almost instantly. Opponents can break this egg, so keep it safe!

Specials:

NSPECIAL – Scream
Smoky Progg lets out a bloodcurdling scream. In addition to the move lasting a shockingly long time, it also has a very large hitbox, being capable of catching opponents above Progg. The sheer volume of this scream will cause all Gloom anywhere on stage to change into Panic Gloom!

FSPECIAL – Gloom Spit
Smoky Progg splits up a ball of Gloom from its mouth that travels in a slow, high arc. The projectile deals hits as it flies and when it spreads over the ground, and releases a wide cloud of Gloom. While slow, it’s a good way of placing Gloom far away from Progg on the stage.

USPECIAL – Smoggy Leap
After making a mighty flap, Progg floats upwards in a high leap, then falls. Landing on stage will leave a cloud of Gloom behind as it hits the ground. This attack only has one initial hit at the very beginning of the move, so try to be smart when you recover!

DSPECIAL – Mamuta Burial
Channeling its Mamuta-spawn instincts, Smoky Progg slaps the ground. Any grounded opponents struck by this slap will be buried in the sand, and will be forced into a techchase scenario. If one is not already present, landing the attack on an opponent will also unearth a new Smoky Progg egg on stage! While in air, hitting airborne opponents won’t spawn any eggs, but does have a strong spike hitbox at the very tip of Progg’s hands.
