Jure Uxoris
Rule by right of your wife — or let her reign in her own name.
Iure Uxoris adds a small but historically grounded succession and marriage mechanic to Crusader Kings III. When you press your wife’s claim in war and win, an event will appear allowing you to decide what happens to the conquered titles.
Will your wife rule suo iure, in her own right?
Or will you assume authority iure uxoris, ruling those lands by right of your wife?
- New event after winning a war for your wife’s claim.
- Choose between Iure Uxoris and Suo Iure.
- If you choose Iure Uxoris, the conquered titles pass from your wife to you.
- Associated lower titles granted by the war are also transferred where appropriate.
- If you choose Suo Iure, your wife keeps the titles and rules in her own right.
- Localization included for the main CK3 languages.
In medieval law and politics, iure uxoris — “by right of wife” — referred to a husband exercising authority over lands, titles, or offices through his wife’s hereditary rights. This mod brings that dynastic logic into CK3’s claim-war system, giving the player a meaningful post-war decision when expanding through marriage.
This is a lightweight event/on_action mod.
It should be compatible with most mods unless they heavily modify war victory on_actions, claim-war behavior, or title transfer mechanics.
This mod is intended for players who want more dynastic, legal, and roleplay depth around marriage claims and title inheritance.
