Bomberman
Bomberman, the prototype bomber, joins Rivals of Aether! Utilizing a surplus of bombs, he can trap opponents to put them in disadvantage or defeat them outright.

By pressing NSPECIAL, Bomberman will create a bomb. Once the button is released, he will throw it. Bombs can be thrown up, down, or forward by holding different directions on the joystick. While NSPECIAL is held down, Bomberman will carry the bomb and is able to walk and jump, but can’t run, double jump, or use any defensive options. As it’s held, Bomberman will pump it up to a bigger bomb, and finally to a P bomb with massive killpower. Then, at any time, DSPECIAL can be used to detonate all bombs at once, damaging opponents on top of them. Up to five bombs can be in play at any given time; pulling a sixth bomb will simply destroy the first thrown bomb. Bombs have a lot of uses, so experiment with them to gain the upper hand on your opponent!

By pressing FSPECIAL, Bomberman will perform a quick kick forward. This kick will push any bombs it touches forward a short distance. This is a good way to microspace or to get bombs off platforms. The move can be charged as well, increasing the distance it pushes bombs. The aerial version of FSPECIAL has Bomberman spin in a circle, giving him a small burst of upwards momentum as well.

Bomberman’s USPECIAL has him sprout out two jets and soar upwards. It takes a short moment to activate, and during this time Bomberman’s fall speed is greatly reduced and he can drift left and right. Once he blasts off, he is again able to drift left or right to angle his recovery. While ascending, Bomberman also has a weak hitbox covering his body, and the initial blastoff has a powerful spiking hitbox right below him.

All of Bomberman’s strong attacks are capable of moving bombs like FSPECIAL, albeit with more lag. This gives several options for how to maneuver bombs. DSTRONG also gives Bomberman low friction, allowing him to slide into opponents with it.
Bomberman’s DTILT moves him forward along the ground. By dash cancelling into it, Bomberman moves much further.
Bomberman’s double jump has a short delay before ascending. This allows Bomberman to double jump cancel into his aerials, falling or ascending with them.
