Description:

Mod Features:

Adds a new healer support unit "Medics" to the Astra Militarum, which can be produced from the Imperial Barracks after the "Medics" research tree option is researched. This unit is based off the Astra Militarum Guardsman with identical stats with the exception of the following:

10 energy, 20 food, 10 ore

Cost (Upkeep)

1 energy, 2 food

Group Size

Production Cost

Abilities

Narthecium

Heal friendly organic unit for 6 hitpoints.

Combat Stimulant*

Increase friendly unit damage by +25%. Lasts for 3 turns, 3 turn cooldown.

Overtime*

Grants an additional action to the Medic for 1 turn, but requires and consumes all movement.

*Requires the "Improved Medics" tier 8 upgrade

2 Custom upgrades are added to the Astra Militarum research tree:
⬥ Medics (tier 4) – Allows Medics to be trained at the Imperial Barracks
⬥ Improved Medics (tier 8) – Grants Medics the Combat Stimulant and Overtime abilities

The images above show the rescale version of this mod, which rescales the Medics to the same size as Guardsmen from Gladius+ mod. The Medics from the base mod (this mod) will be the same size as Guardsmen from the base game (no scale mod).

Unfortunately I lack the tools and expertise to create a new model for the unit, so the Medics will just use the default Guardsman unit model, sorry.

Known Issues:

⬥ The AI may not use the abilities "Combat Stimulant" or "Overtime" when using this unit (even though it may research them), as the AI doesn’t seem to know how/when to use custom abilities. For this reason, Medics have the ability "Narthecium" instead of a custom healing ability, ensuring the AI will at least use that.

Features:

❌ The Medic unit from this mod will not be affected by any mods that change existing unit stats (e.g. Increased Normal Unit Levels (+40)). ❌ The Medic unit from this mod will not be affected by any mods that change existing unit scales (e.g. Gladius+). Get the rescale mod (along with this mod) to have the Medics fit the scale of Gladius+.

Load Order:

In the in-game mod list menu, this mod should be: ⬥ Anywhere
