LETMS – AMPV Platform [Commission]
The Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle (AMPV) is a modern tracked armored vehicle family developed by BAE Systems for the United States Army to replace the aging M113 series. Based on the Bradley Fighting Vehicle chassis, the AMPV provides significantly improved armor protection, mobility, survivability, and digital battlefield capability. The platform is designed for use in Armored Brigade Combat Teams alongside Abrams tanks and Bradley IFVs. Several variants exist, including command, medical evacuation, mortar carrier, and general-purpose configurations. Recent experimental versions have also integrated 30mm turrets and SHORAD systems, expanding the AMPV’s role into fire support and counter-drone operations.
