APV.894 IFV
Amphibious AFV with a 35mm autocannon, 4 ATGMs, and room for 6 dismounts. Occupants will be resupplied.
Originally, I was going to release the MLRS version of this vehicle first, for that was the intended main gimmick of this vehicle, since that is way more unique than the bog standard autocannon-ATGM combo. Nonetheless, I finished the IFV variant first and still have to fix a lot of the MLRS variant, so here’s a generic IFV.
I had this model lying around for a very long while. In fact, it’s actually based on another earlier model made like at least 4 years ago. If I recall, the main inspiration for this IFV’s turret is some picture of a “mysterious Chinese IFV” from like 2017, while the chassis is based on a hodgepodge of modern IFVs like the Borsuk, AS21 Redback, CV9040C, VN17, etc. I am basically trying to put all my old and dusting 3D models to good use so they don’t go to waste.
I mentioned on some mod a while ago that a friend and I were working on a modern-to-near-future project. Unfortunately, it is in a bit of a limbo. For brevity, basically we’re busy, especially my friend, as he is the writer of the project. He sorta has a tendency to never finalize things, soooo yeah. While I have completed pretty much all of the skins for a whopping 8 factions, all of which use multiskin, and have also completed a few maps, he is still stuck on hammering out the lore or whatever. The earliest it seems for a possible release is in a few weeks time given that it’s summer now, though that’s probably wishful thinking. I’ve put a ton of effort and hours into this so I really hope this project will see the light of day, though when, if ever, is ultimately up to my friend.
