TI Fleet Manager
Tired of commanding your entire space navy as one flat pile of ships?
This mod replaces Terra Invicta’s flat fleet structure with a four-tier military hierarchy inspired by real-world naval doctrine. Organise your forces like a real admiral, deploy divisions on independent missions, recall them home automatically, and commission new ships directly to your fleet’s build queue.
Fleet → Squadron → Division → Ship
- Four-tier structure – Fleets contain Squadrons, Squadrons contain Divisions, Divisions contain Ships.
- Hard size caps – max. 3 ships per Division, max. 4 Divisions per Squadron.
- Auto-Organise – one click sorts all unassigned ships by hull class into the correct Squadrons and Divisions.
- Automatic hull classification:
- LACRon (Light Attack Craft) – Monitor, Escort, Gunship, Destroyer, Corvette, Frigate
- CruRon (Cruiser) – Cruiser, Battlecruiser, Lancer
- BatRon (Battle) – Battleship, Dreadnought, Titan
- AuxRon (Auxiliary) – Troop Carriers, Explorers, Colony Ships, Councilor Transports
- Special squadrons managed automatically:
- INDRon – holding bay for unassigned divisions
- BuildRon – holding bay for ships under construction or in transit to the fleet
- Detach – split a Division or an entire Squadron into a standalone fleet for independent operations.
- Sub-Detach – split off a division that was already detached (e.g. separating at an intermediate stop).
- Recall – automatically route detached units home via TI’s MasterTransferPlanner (cheapest trajectory). Co-located units merge instantly.
- Partial Recall – recall only part of a remote fleet; the remainder stays on station.
- RTB status – returning units are tagged [RTB] so you always know what is en route.
- A detached fleet with divisions from 2+ different Squadrons is automatically renamed Battlegroup-N.
- The canonical name is restored automatically once the composition drops back to a single Squadron.
- Order dialog – pick ship design and quantity; orders are distributed across your faction’s fastest shipyards.
- Cost & time preview – see the total bill and projected production time before committing.
- Auto-delivery – completed ships are auto-transferred to your fleet’s BuildRon and promoted into the correct combat Squadron on arrival.
- Orders are save/load persistent – they survive game restarts.
- Hierarchy panel in the fleet detail view – all Squadrons and Divisions at a glance with live status tags.
- Hierarchy tab in the Fleets & Ship Construction screen – full overview of every fleet you own.
- Ship names show their assignment as a suffix – (4. BatRon | 1. Div) – visible everywhere in the game.
- Fully localised in English and German.

1. Organise your fleet
Open any of your fleets. The Fleet Hierarchy panel appears at the top of the fleet detail view. Click Auto-Organise to sort all ships into Squadrons and Divisions by hull class automatically.
2. Deploy a Division
Click Detach next to any Division in the Hierarchy panel. A new fleet named MotherFleet-Squadron-Division appears. Manoeuvre it like any other fleet.
3. Recall it home
In your home fleet’s Hierarchy panel, detached divisions appear under "Detached from …". Click Return – the mod picks the cheapest trajectory and issues the transfer order automatically (requires ≥ 25 % Δv remaining).
4. Commission new ships
Click Commission in the Hierarchy panel. Choose a design and quantity – the mod distributes orders to your faction’s fastest eligible shipyards and delivers ships to your fleet on completion.
- Existing saves – fully compatible. All ships start unassigned; click Auto-Organise once per fleet after the first load.
- Removing the mod – saves containing mod data will show serialisation warnings on load without the mod, but the game keeps running. Hierarchy data is lost.
- Other mods – should be compatible with mods that do not alter the fleet or ship construction UI.
The following mods are supported out of the box – their ships are automatically routed into the correct squadron type:
- Expanse Ships Mod – hull types from the mod are classified automatically:
- BatRon: Donnager, Trueman, UNLeonidas
- CruRon: Scirocco
- LACRon: Phantom, UNPatrol, Tachi, Morrigan
Ships from other mods whose hull types are not explicitly registered fall through to LACRon. The squadron assignment can be corrected manually at any time via the Hierarchy panel.
TI Crew Extended – expands the crew and personnel system in Terra Invicta.

The naming convention follows U.S. Navy WW2 and modern NATO doctrine: LACRon = DESRON, CruRon = CRURON, BatRon = BatDiv, AuxRon = Fleet Train.
If you run into problems, open the UMM console (Ctrl+F10) first – the mod logs detailed diagnostics for all known failure modes.
