1918 – Compiègne Aflame
“The day of revolution has come. We have forced peace… The old is no more. The rule of capital, which turned Europe into a charnel house, is broken.”
Order in Europe has devolved into an array of chaos. During the final years of the Weltkrieg, German lines faltered and the once powerful empire collapsed from within.
The Central Powers stand as a testament of what once was, as the Ottoman Empire perilously fights to retain its holdings. Bulgaria makes a final stand against the Entente, and Greece splits into two factions— the republican Thessalonians and the monarchy. The Finnish monarchy is established, and the armed forces attempt to seize control of territory in the chaos of the Russian Civil War.
As the forces of the Kaiserreich withdrew from the east, two new states— the Independent Hetmanate of Ukraine and the Byelorussian Republic emerge, as staunchly anti-Bolshevik states.
The call for independence storms the world. Irish Nationalists attempt to seize British control of the island, Northern Macedonians combat the control of Serbia, and Syrians seek freedom from Ottoman reign.
This scenario is a preview of what the upcoming 1919 – Interbellum [REDUX] map will include, created as a submission for the current scenario competition.
