This one tool covers all your tool needs.

It allows you to:

Build structures (Carpenter’s hammer)
Smithing (Iron hammer functionality)
Chop trees (Tier 1 and 2)
Mine (Tier 1, Tier 2 might work, need to test)
Till a farm
and Dig

Unlocked automatically, no research required.
Crafting requirements – 10 wood, 10 crude stone.
