This mod lets you tune the experience to your playstyle, while still preserving randomness and replayability.
Vanilla rewards:
- []Surface: 1000 / 1250 / 1500[]Underground: 2000 / 3000 / 4000
This mod (configurable): choose a minimum and maximum reward for each map type. The game will then pick a random value from the allowed steps:
- []Surface: 250-point steps[]Underground: 1000-point steps
Default settings (matches the previous version of this mod):
- []Surface: 1500–1500[]Underground: 4000–4000
You can set:
- []Surface Min / Surface Max (250–2500, step 250)[]Underground Min / Underground Max (1000–10000, step 1000)
- []Safe to add or remove mid-save (only changes future anomaly rewards).[]Should be compatible with most mods unless they also override anomaly research rewards.
My mods are is about player choice and agency. Set anomaly research rewards to match the experience you want:
- []Make the game harder (lower rewards)[]Keep it close to vanilla
- Make it more relaxed (higher rewards)
If you previously used “Anomalies Always Give Maximum Research Points”, this is the same mod updated with configuration options.
- Surviving Mars sometimes does not fully refresh Mod Options after enabling or disabling other mods. If the options for this mod are missing, a restart will make them appear again. (Engine/UI limitation.)
- Added: Added mod options to make the mod configurable.
- Updated: Workshop thumbnail / preview images refreshed for clarity and consistency.
