Description:

The cubebody model is an animation-ready model meant to spoof an armature onto other models. You may see this model in other mods that you already have installed, I’ve been sharing this in the DK2 discord for quite a while. I’ve notified most of the mod developers that I see using this in their mods so that they can add it as a dependency instead of shipping their mod with a copy. This lets me make changes in the future easily and ensures there aren’t 200+ random copies of the model everywhere for troubleshooting.

Technical explanation:

Door Kickers 2 assigns the armature for a human based off the first model assigned a Render3dObject. Therefore, if the cubebody.khm is rendered first, this model will have the armature needed. This is a “hacky” fix to allow models that would not otherwise have an armature to have one but it is not an end-all be-all fix. This does not replace a properly rigged/skinned model and will cause warping on models with major differences from the default DK2 humanoid. It’s main goal is to enable things like on-the-spot model alterations without having to reload the game every time. Tools like TrooperToolbox & Anthony’s Camo Customizer take advantage of this feature.

TL;DR:

Load cubebody first, then load other human models after in spaces such as the helmet or vest slot. Me think, why waste time say lot word when few word do trick?
