Resistance Militia Buffed
This mod improves the survivability of resistance soldiers during retaliation missions and adds visual progression to their weapons. I found retaliation missions getting brutal with certain mods, so this is my attempt to give militia a fighting chance without breaking balance.
🔹 Changes
Increased militia HP
Tier 1: 10 HP (from 4)
Tier 2: 15 HP (from 6)
Tier 3: 20 HP (from 9)
Helps resistance units survive longer so they can meaningfully contribute in combat
🔹 Visual Upgrade (No Gameplay Impact)
Tier 3 militia now use magnetic rifle visuals
This includes:
weapon model
firing effects/projectiles
UI icon
Damage and balance are unchanged
This makes militia strength easier to read at a glance and helps them feel more in line with XCOM’s tech progression.
🧠 Why this mod?
On higher difficulty or with gameplay mods (such as Yellow Alert), retaliation missions can become extremely punishing, with resistance soldiers dying before they can contribute.
This mod gives them a bit more staying power without turning them into full soldiers.

Should be compatible with most mods
LWOTC doesn’t work with this mod as far as I’m aware the NPC resistance soldiers are not in LWOTC
May conflict with mods that directly modify:
resistance militia stats
militia weapon templates
