Description:

Original Author: WatcherNinth.
This Mod is a derivative expansion and enhancement of WatcherNinth’s work of the same name.

Whether it is the core setting, ability framework, or overall atmosphere, it is clear that the original author put tremendous effort into the civilization of Junko Enoshima.
I really loved that Mod, but as too much time has passed, many of its mechanics have stopped working. Therefore, on the basis of the original author’s design direction, I have taken the liberty to repair and create this derivative version.

Leader Ability: Soul of the Despair Organization

Unlocks Astrology at the start of the game.
After researching Mathematics, gain 1 Remnant of Despair and 9 additional Spy slots.
Unlocks special projects "Hope’s Peak Academy Deliberation" and "Overture of Destruction".
Each existing Free City provides +10 Science, Culture, Gold, and Faith per turn; former Free Cities that have sworn allegiance to Junko provide +5 each.
After completing "Overture of Destruction", the above bonuses are doubled.

Civilization Ability: Ultimate Prison Academy

Cannot build Settlers(Don’t worry, as long as you play this civilization normally, you will never lack cities).
Capital city: +50% Science, Culture, Faith, Gold.
Capital city: +100% Production.
-60% War Weariness.
The first time another major civilization is destroyed or eliminated in the game, gain 1 Settler.
When founding a unique religion, automatically gain the unique belief "Despairism".

Civilization Ability: Despair Syndrome

Barbarian or Free City units that come near Junko’s units are converted by the Despair Organization:

Combat units trigger within 1 tile.
Non-combat units trigger within 2 tiles.
Spies and Traders do not trigger this mechanic.
Converted units gain +1 Movement.
Converted units disappear after 10 turns.

Unique Unit: Remnant of Despair

Replaces the Spy.
Starts with one free promotion.
Establishment time is halved.
While stationed in enemy territory, has a 55% chance every 5 turns to incite a riot.
A successful riot spawns 2 barbarian combat units matching the current world era.
Base hidden success rate: 80%; if it fails, the Remnant dies.
After completing "Overture of Destruction": riot interval reduced to 4 turns, hidden success rate increased to 95%.

Unique District: Hope’s Peak Preparatory Course

Replaces the Holy Site.
Production cost halved.
No maintenance cost.
Upon completion, grants 25 Faith and 100 Gold.
+2 Faith for each adjacent district.
When adjacency bonuses provide Faith, they also provide an equal amount of Science.
Specialists working in this district also produce Culture.

Unique Religion & Belief: Ultimate Despair / Despairism

When Junko founds a religion and chooses Ultimate Despair, she automatically gains the unique belief Despairism.

Effects:

Other cities following this religion suffer -15 Loyalty.
Citizens in those other cities do not generate Loyalty.
Free Cities following this religion gain +20 Loyalty.
Religious pressure is doubled.

Unique Project: Hope’s Peak Academy Deliberation

Unlocked at the start of the game.
Upon completion, grants one Great Prophet.

Unique Project: Overture of Destruction

Unlocked with Mass Media.
Requires a Hope’s Peak Preparatory Course.
Can be completed only once per game.
Project cost: 300.
While the project is active, the city suffers -2 Amenities.
Upon completion:
Existing Free City yields increase from +10 each (Science, Culture, Gold, Faith) to +20 each.
Former Free City yields increase from +5 each to +10 each.
Remnant of Despair riot interval reduced from 5 turns to 4 turns.
Remnant of Despair hidden success rate increased from 80% to 95%.
85% chance that every other major civilization’s city following Ultimate Despair immediately becomes a Free City.

Recommended Playstyle

Junko is suited for players who enjoy non-traditional expansion, chaos control, and mid-to-late game explosions.

Suggested strategy:

Early game: rush a Holy Site, pick Religious Settlements for a second city.
Complete the special project to get a Great Prophet. Choose beliefs: Work Ethic and Missionary Zeal.
Convert a neighboring civilization, reaching 5-6 cities by the end of the Ancient Era.
Deploy unique Spies (Remnants of Despair) into enemy territory to incite riots and disrupt development.
Late game: complete "Overture of Destruction", triggering a massive wave of Free Cities from all cities following Despairism.
