Itemization Overhaul – Uniques & Mythics

An addon for Itemization Overhaul – Core that brings Diablo 2 style Unique and Mythic items to RimWorld — 34 fixed-identity Uniques that can manifest on any gear of the right slot, and 14 Mythic artifacts of impossible power earned at the end of multi-leg expedition chains.
When gear rolls Relic tier, it has a chance (default 25%, tunable) to manifest as a named Unique. Uniques are bound to slot types — any helmet, any outer armor, any melee weapon — so gear from other mods can spawn as a Unique too.
- Always identical — fixed name, fixed affixes at full Artifact ✦ potency, base-stat variance pinned. Two copies of The Forefather are the same blade.
- A RimWorld retelling of Diablo legends — the Harlequin Crest becomes the Crest of the Laughing Court; Windforce becomes the Windreaper; Shaftstop becomes Shaftbreaker. Every Unique carries multi-sentence lore rooted in the Rim.
- Seven slot families — headgear, outer armor, clothing, legwear, utility, melee, and ranged, each with 4–6 identities to hunt.
- Gold ✦ Unique ✦ ground tag replaces the standard Relic tag so you spot them the moment they drop.

Mythics never drop. Each carries affixes overcharged 25% beyond Artifact tier — values no natural roll, craft, or Luminary Cube ritual can produce — plus one Mythic Power no other item can grant:
- Ascendant — every skill learns at burning-passion rate.
- Sanctified — permanent scars heal, injuries mend 2.5× faster.
- Juggernaut — 25% of all incoming damage simply doesn’t happen.
- Warlord, Phantom, Deadeye, Mindforge, Tireless, Stoneflesh, Sovereign, Veilwalker, Colossus, Clarity, Apex Predator — one power per artifact, fourteen in all.
Mythics manifest on the best gear of their slot — vanilla or modded — at Legendary quality, wreathed in a pulsing violet glow on the ground, in a pawn’s hands, and even holstered.

Rumors arrive of a resting place — and a chain of 3 to 5 expeditions begins. Each abandoned site is guarded more fiercely than the last (bandit camps → fortified outposts → turret lines → sleeping mechanoids), and each yields a star-map fragment that deciphers into the next location. At the end waits the vault, and inside it, one Mythic.
- Lore-driven letters at every step — the trail darkens as the fragments are read.
- Sites marked with a violet vault icon on the world map.
- Lose a fragment and the trail re-surfaces elsewhere; ignore the trail too long and it goes cold.
Some Uniques and Mythics surface as ideology relics another faction claims as their own — registered on their ideoligion page under the item’s true name. Owning one makes that faction your bitter enemy: reclaim raids at home, and ambushes on the world map while a caravan carries it. The prize is worth it. Probably.
With the Odyssey DLC active, its unique weapon system is folded into this one: every Odyssey unique weapon reward manifests as one of our named Uniques — relic tier, fixed loadout, full lore — while keeping Odyssey’s custom weapon art and ability slot. No more random trait soup; every reward is a legend with a name.
