Description:
Ultima Expansion

Welcome to Ultima, a massive overhaul and expansion for Knights of Honor II: Sovereign. This mod radically redesigns the progression, economy, and late-game breadth of the game, while fixing a few bugs in the process. The core philosophy is giving the player more meaningful tradeoffs, smarter systems, and deeper late-game administration through custom traditions, new skills, and brand new building upgrades.

Key Features
  • 11 Brand New Traditions: Expand your empire definitively with new governing traditions ranging from Royal Engineers and Secret Police to Commercial Guilds, Standing Army, and Marcher Lords.
  • Custom Skill Progression System: Each of the 11 new traditions is fully integrated with 9 brand new character skills (e.g., Admiralty, Trade Networks, Royal Justice, Fiscal Policy). These have been balanced to properly shape your governor, marshal, merchant, and diplomat classes.
  • High-Quality Custom Art: All new traditions feature hand-curated, wide-format oil painting banners. In addition, the 10 new skills feature their own fully customized, 3-tier progressive UI icons (24 new icons in total) so you always visually feel your character’s progression.
  • Buildings & Upgrades: Completely expanded the building upgrades, New Buildings like Town Center and Colosseum.
  • 118 New Upgrades: Complete extended upgrade Trees for almost every building in the game. Some are using stats that were never used in the game.
  • Dynamic Realm Stats & Stability: Overhauled kingdom values, corruption calculations, and local authority features. Wide empires face deeper administrative friction, while specialized governors and upgraded infrastructure provide powerful stabilizing counter-measures.
  • Fixed AI Unit Selection: AI will have a more diversified unit roster, Calvary is no longer the best troop for sieges.
UI Issues

Note: The Tradition picker UI was never meant to have over 27 traditions so 10 of the new 11 traditons are drawn off the UI in a grid format. I would need a custom Prefab file which is a Unity Asset for the Tradition Picker UI to look correctly.

Compatibility

Note: Because this deeply alters skills, traditions, and building progression trees, it is highly recommended to start a new campaign when playing with this mod!

Leave a comment with your feedback on the new traditions! Enjoy forming your ultimate medieval empire.
