On Steam Workshop

Description:

Vanilla friendly mod which provides some enhancements for people who played Factorio before. Namely:
– Area blueprints
– Export strings to share blueprints with other people
– Additional information on the blueprint list(workers/services/crates depending on room type)
– Sorting blueprints by name/slots(workers/services/crates)
– Detailed previews for both room & area blueprints
– Rotating counterclockwise(shift+R)
– Separate area blueprint panel with possibility for editing(upgrade levels, workshop types, converting roads to specific type)
– Garithmicizing blueprints for my fellow bug lovers

Save compatibility

The mod doesn’t touch save in any way and can be added/removed at any time. Area blueprints are separately stored in mod files that can be backed up located here:
{steamLibraryLocation}/steamapps/workshop/content/1162750/3699453096/V71/AreaBlueprints.json

Limitations

– if you make 500×500 blueprint of half your city, expect game to freeze for 15 seconds
– vertical/horizontal mirroring was removed, it’s not possible because some entities don’t have mirror equivalents
– placing area blueprints skips rooms that you haven’t unlocked technology for
– large blueprints may have very long export strings making it difficult to share, chat apps sometimes chop such long messages into several parts

Migration from V70 to V71

If you have area blueprints from V70 you want to keep, you should go to this location:
{steamLibraryLocation}/steamapps/workshop/content/1162750/3699453096/

There will be two directories, V70 and V71. Simply go to V70 and copy "AreaBlueprints.json" file and paste it into V71.

Note, that some entities were changed with the update:
– nurseries for different species merged into a daycare except for garithmi breeder
– trees, flowers and statues split into several types
– something that I didn’t notice 🤷‍♂️

You can place blueprints containing those but changed/removed entities will be omitted, so you will probably want to just plop them down, place back trees/statues you want and re-save blueprint.

The previews for such blueprints might not render correctly too. They are marked in red with information which entity it can’t find in the base game.
