Pregnancy Overhaul Plus

Pregnancy Overhaul Plus is a mod for Crusader Kings III that expands game rule settings for pregnancy, child limits, fertility age, and childbirth outcomes.
The mod lets you decide how mild, harsh, or unrestricted the birth system should be in your campaign.

• Adjusts the child limit for the player, AI rulers, or all characters.
• Lets you increase the child limit through several levels.
• Adds a setting where the “Fecund” trait can remove the child limit.
• Lets you extend fertility age.
• Adjusts the chance of stillbirth.
• Adjusts the chance for newborns to receive the “Sickly” trait.
• Adds a separate pregnancy termination system through the Court Physician.

In the game rules, you can choose who the changes apply to:

• player only;
• player and AI rulers;
• player and all AI characters.

You can also choose the level of child limit increase:

• Default — no additional bonus.
• Expanded I — a small bonus to the child limit.
• Expanded II — a medium bonus to the child limit.
• Expanded III — a high bonus to the child limit.

A separate rule can fully remove the child limit:

• for parents with the “Fecund” trait;
• only for mothers with this trait;
• or for all characters.

The mod adds several levels for extending fertility age:

• +5 years and +10% fertility;
• +10 years and +20% fertility;
• +15 years and +30% fertility;
• almost no age limit.

Pregnancy Overhaul Plus also disables the stacking fertility penalty from already born children.

Pregnancy termination is available through interaction with a pregnant character.
If the ruler has a Court Physician, open the pregnant character’s context menu and choose:
“Terminate Pregnancy”
After that, an event will open with the patient and the physician. The cost is paid only after confirmation.

• Cost: 250 Piety.
• The chance of success depends on the Court Physician.
• On success, the pregnancy ends.
• On failure, the pregnancy continues or the patient dies, depending on the selected game rule.
• The same pregnancy cannot be terminated more than once.

If the procedure remains secret, the physician gains a weak hook on the patient.
If the procedure is exposed, the patient receives a temporary general opinion penalty.
Faiths with the “Sacred Childbirth” tenet do not allow access to pregnancy termination.

The mod adds the following rules:

• PO+: Who gets child limit changes
• PO+: Child limit
• PO+: No child limit
• PO+: Fertility age
• PO+: Pregnancy termination
• PO+: Termination failure
• PO+: Stillbirth
• PO+: Sickly newborns

The mod may conflict with other mods that change:

• pregnancy;
• childbirth;
• child limits;
• fertility;
• pregnancy events;
• pregnancy termination.

The mod does not change the map, cultures, religions, dynasties, or historical characters.
