Day / Night Cycle v2.0
A mutator for people who want maps to feel less static.
It adds a 24-hour day/night cycle, a custom runtime sky, moving clouds, fog control, moonlight, stars, reflection probe handling, and a small thunder system.
– Replaces the map skybox at runtime.
– Adds visible sun, moon, and stars.
– Adds moving dynamic clouds.
– Controls fog color, fog distance, ambient light, sun/moon light, and reflections.
– Supports random start time or a fixed start time.
– Supports Ravenfield night mode.
– Can cycle through weather automatically.
– Includes four weather presets: Clear, Cloudy, Fog, and Thunderstorm.
– Thunderstorm includes wind ambience, thunder audio, lightning flashes, and darker storm lighting.
– Can control vehicle headlights at night.
– Can dim and refresh reflection probes to reduce overly bright nights.
Clear
Bright, clean sky with lighter cloud coverage.
Cloudy
Softer lighting, more cloud cover, lower contrast.
Fog
Closer fog, lower visibility at distance, softer scene contrast.
Thunderstorm
Darker sky, stronger wind ambience, thunder, lightning flashes, and heavier atmosphere.
There are no physical rain or snow particles in this version. Weather mainly affects sky, clouds, fog, lighting, reflections, wind audio, thunder, and lightning.
Day/Night Cycle
Turn time progression on or off.
Real Seconds Per Full Day
Controls how long a full in-game day takes in real seconds. Default is 1440 seconds, or 24 minutes.
Randomize Start Time
Starts each match at a random time of day. Enabled by default.
Start Time
Used when random start time is disabled.
Morning / Noon / Dusk / Night Hour
Controls the time points used by sky and lighting transitions.
Ravenfield Night Mode Behaviour
Choose whether this mutator respects Ravenfield night mode, forces a night start, or ignores it.
Weather Mode
Disabled, Fixed Weather, or Dynamic Weather.
Weather Transition Seconds
Controls how long weather takes to blend from one preset to another.
Control Fog
Lets the mutator take over fog color and distance.
Control Reflection Probes At Night
Helps with maps that stay too bright at night because reflections were baked or captured during daytime.
Maps can include their own DNCV2 environment profile. If a supported map has one, this mutator will read it at runtime and apply the map author’s custom time, weather, color, fog, and lighting values.

The toolkit is optional. Normal players do not need it.
– This mutator intentionally overrides the map’s skybox, fog, ambient lighting, sun light, and reflection settings.
– Some maps will look very different from the original author setup.
– Maps with heavy custom lighting or scripted weather may need compatibility options adjusted.
– Reflection probe handling helps night scenes, but results still depend on the map.
– If another day/night mutator is running at the same time, this mutator will try to shut down the older logic.
Use it on open maps, large maps, and maps where long matches benefit from changing time and weather.
If a map was carefully built around one specific baked lighting setup, try disabling some compatibility options before assuming something is broken.
