Bountiful Bricks and Blocks
A very simple mod that adds new reactions to:
– Create 8 blocks from a wooden log at a Carpenter’s workshop
– Create 8 blocks from a boulder at a Stoneworker’s Workshop
– Create 4 (green/clear/crystal) glass blocks from one bag of sand or rock crystal (with pearlash and fuel as needed) at a Glass Furnace
– Create 4 clay bricks from one clay block and fuel (if needed) at a Kiln.
Update 1.2
– Added a new reaction to make 8 blocks from non-economic rocks only – with the default reaction, your dwarves will happily crank out hematite blocks, and since you can’t specify materials for custom reactions, the only way to prevent this was by linking a stockpile with only useless rocks to the workshop.
The new reaction uses only useless rocks automatically.
That’s it. The vanilla reactions (that create 4, 4, 1 and 1 blocks respectively) are hardcoded (except for the clay brick reaction) and thus untouched.
This was primarily made for personal use – I like playing above ground, but Vanilla DF is a bit too stingy and tedious with basic construction materials for my liking – but I figured I may as well share it here. Enjoy. Or not.
