Gundam Wars: Battle Universe

Gundam Wars: Battle Universe is a total conversion mod based on Rusted Warfare.

Built around the Gundam universe, this mod aims to recreate not only the units, but also the combat style, battlefield design, and overall atmosphere of the Mobile Suit Gundam series.

Engage in large-scale battles across ground and space—
featuring over 100 units from anime, novels, and games.

From the humble Type-61 Main Battle Tank, to iconic Gundams, to massive Pegasus-class warships—every unit is recreated with high-quality sprites to faithfully reflect its original design.

Complete Gameplay Overhaul

Battle Universe almost completely rewrites the core systems of the original game.

Strategic Base System

Replaces the traditional economy system.
Capture and control key locations to expand your economy and military power.

Independent Tech Tree System

Features a clean and intuitive UI with a custom-designed interface.

Unit Ability System

Some units have unique abilities, such as:

Ordering mobile suits to advance at full speed and switch to melee mode
Commanding warships to deploy Minovsky particles
Activating special tactical skills and support abilities
Dual System: HP & Energy

Each unit has:

HP (Durability) — destroyed when it reaches zero
Energy — units cannot fight when depleted

Energy must be restored at supply points or supply ships.
Abilities often consume large amounts of energy, adding tactical depth and logistical pressure.

ACE System & Pilot System

ACE units represent legendary commanders and pilots from the UC timeline.

Unique abilities that can influence the battlefield
Freely assign pilots to different units (no fixed pilot-unit binding)
Let your favorite pilots use newer-generation mobile suits

Pilots gain experience by surviving battles and returning to base, gradually becoming stronger—
even unknown pilots can become aces!

(PS: Yes, you can put Amuro into a Zaku Tank… it probably won’t help much—but you can also put him into an NT-1 and rewrite history.)

This also means unit capture is possible:
If you’re playing as Zeon and encounter a Gundam, don’t panic—
use high-powered weapons (e.g. beam attacks) to eliminate the enemy pilot, replace them with your own, return to base, and analyze the unit at a supply station.
After that, you’ll be able to produce Gundams yourself.

Custom Maps

Includes original maps recreating key battlefields from the UC timeline,
with diverse terrain and strategic layouts.
